The Republican National Committee (RNC) has accused Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) of “mansplaning” during his passionate comments directed toward Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

In an email, the RNC called Booker “Derogatory Cory” and slammed him for using “his entire 10 minutes mansplaining” to Nielsen.

The RNC continued in a blog post:

“There’d be so many triggered Democrats that there’d be a hashtag within minutes, campus protests across the country, and the topic-du-jour for celebrities at Hollywood’s next award show.”

On Tuesday, the senator from New Jersey criticized Nielsen for being complicit with President Donald Trump for dancing around whether or not she heard him call certain African countries “shithole” nations during a meeting about immigration last week. Nielsen said she could not recall Trump saying the derogatory words.

“When ignorance and bigotry is allied with power, it’s a dangerous force in our country. Your silence and your amnesia is complicity,”Booker said on Tuesday.

Twitter was united that what Booker did was not mansplaining.

Trump has been harshly condemned for his remarks, and Republican lawmakers at the meeting have been coy about whether or not they heard Trump make the remarks.

The release ended with praise for Nielsen saying “Nevertheless, she persisted,” which was a line infamously used by Mitch McConnell to demean Elizabeth Warren and became a liberal rallying cry.
