Juventus vs. Inter Milan: Why it was postponed

Concerns about coronavirus in Italy initially led Serie A officials to announce five matches, including the consequential Inter Milan vs. Juventus match, would be played behind closed doors. But on Saturday, the league decided it would move the matches to May 13. That means a pivotal match in the Serie A race, as the table stands right now, could be especially crucial provided both teams keep winning.

Juventus has been on track for a ninth straight Serie A title all season, but it’s also stayed competitive deep into the season. In fact, Lazio, allowed to play its match with Bologna on Saturday, won 2-0 and is now in the Serie A lead with 62 points to Juve’s 60. Inter Milan, meanwhile, is only six points off Juve’s pace.

For fans looking for soccer in that time window on Sunday, there is an El Clásico match in Madrid, starting at 3pm ET, with the La Liga title between Barcelona and Real Madrid in the balance.
