Republicans today held a hearing on their latest attempt to overhaul American healthcare, and the controversial political play was met with a stout protest near the Senate Finance Committee’s hearing room. In a gesture ripe with symbolism, police removed a woman protesting the newly revised version of Graham-Cassidy from the hearing by wheeling her out of the room as she chanted “no cuts to Medicaid, save our liberty.”
Meanwhile, Graham-Cassidy bill co-sponsor Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) yawned.

Cassidy and Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.) are looking to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act with their own bill, but the earlier version died thanks to objections from Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.). Monday on CNN, Cassidy admitted that unless he can sway Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), his fight is over.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has also expressed skepticism of the latest version of the bill, which was revised on Monday.
