The producers of BBC's critically acclaimed series Sherlock are proving themselves experts at using Twitter to keep their fans interested between seasons.

Sherlock is a modern-era adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle's beloved detective stories -- not to be confused with the Hollywood film series also based on Sherlock Holmes.

Producers/Writers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss  both have Twitter accounts that they update regularly with production news. Being self-professed nerds, they understand a fan's desire to have the most up-to-date info on his or her favorite shows. And they also seem excited to be sharing the Sherlock process with their fans.

Season 2 of Sherlock is currently filming, giving Gatiss and Moffat ample opportunity to tease their followers.

Tweets will often link to a set photo from 221B Baker Street or stars Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes) and Martin Freeman (John Watson) reviewing lines. That photo ignited a frenzied reaction from fans around the Internet who were ecstatic to see Sherlock and John reunited.

Gatiss appears to enjoy slipping the script into unrelated photos, as if he knows some fans will be scrutinizing the pages for hints.

Cheeky.
