On Tuesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jimmy Kimmel made an impassioned plea directly to Donald Trump supporters. He watched Trump’s Saturday press conference, when the president blamed “both sides” for the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, which prompted Kimmel to tell Trump supporters that “he needs to go.” He’s now heard back from Trump supporters, who responded exactly how you’d expect.

Granted, it’s possible that Kimmel may have changed some minds of Trump supporters, but it seems unlikely. Spread across Twitter and Facebook, they insulted Kimmel, call him a snowflake and a crybaby.

So Kimmel read them on his show. There are likely many more that Kimmel couldn’t show on TV.

It might not be the dialogue he intended to have but it’s a start.
