Janet Jackson first exploded onto the pop charts with her chart-topping album Control in 1986, and she’s been a household name ever since. But after 30 years of pop cultural ubiquity, the singer still keeps her ear to the ground and picks up on the latest music trends—as evidenced by the inclusion of Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” in her recent setlists.

Jackson began incorporating Cardi’s smash into her own breakout hit, “What Have You Done for Me Lately,” on her State of the World Tour. (Incidentally, the mashup wouldn’t have been possible if Jackson hadn’t postponed her tour to give birth to her first child, so it looks like everybody benefited from the delay.) It’s a brief segue, but Jackson gives the banger the full treatment, mouthing along and showing off her expert choreography.
Predictably, Twitter went crazy once it caught wind of Jackson’s cover. It’s only a matter of time before Cardi does the same—after all, she flipped when she met Beyoncé earlier this month.
