When the Patriots overcame a 25-point deficit to defeat the Falcons in the Super Bowl earlier this month, a dude named John also won a date with Canadian pro tennis player Genie Bouchard.

That flirtation occurred when Atlanta was in control of the game. Hours later, when the Patriots had won, she said she would honor the bet and go on the date.

On Wednesday, the meetup finally happened.

Bouchard, who is ranked No. 45 in the world in the WTA rankings and is also featured in this year’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, made sure to document her date with the University of Missouri student at the Brooklyn Nets-Milwaukee NBA game.

Bouchard, who planned the date, even sprung for courtside seats.

Things went so well, in fact, that John even got a kiss (a kiss on the cheek, but still) at night’s end.

But that’s not even the best part for John. The best part was this quote when she was asked by TMZ how the date was going.

“Awesome,” she said. “He’s normal. … It’s complete luck. I’m so lucky.”

Said John: “The most amazing part was that she agreed to it not knowing who I was.”

Asked by TMZ if there would be a second date, Bouchard said, “For sure.”

Take their date as a reminder to shoot your shots. Because you really never know.
