Just how many YouTube videos are tweeted every day?

According to YouTube statistics, more than 700 videos each minute (that’s more than a million every day). YouTube broke down that number even more, revealing more than 500 tweets per minute contain a direct link to the video-sharing site.

All that tweeting helps traffic, as you can probably guess. On average, every time you auto-share a video through Twitter (by pressing the tweet button), six people will click to watch that video.

The statistics for Facebook are equally mind-blowing.

“500 years of YouTube video are watched every day on Facebook,” the Google-owned company calculated. Yes, you read that right: years.

Besides Facebook and Twitter, viewers are also tuning in through their smartphones in droves.

YouTube mobile gets over 600 million views a day, according to the statistics. Last year, traffic from mobile devices tripled.
