Who doesn’t love the vintage Nintendo Entertainment System? It’s so popular that Nintendo launched a modern mini version last year. But few of us love the NES as much as redditor burgerkingbathroom, who built an entire NES-themed bartop arcade game, from scratch.

The retro-gaming DIYer said the difficulty of getting his hands on the NES Classic mini is what inspired him to get to work on his own retro arcade cabinet. It took about $300 and some know-how to put together (significantly more than the $60 the NES Classic mini if you can find it at a retail store). But for a one-of-a-kind system that comes with bragging rights, the extra cost seems worth it.

The builder shared a YouTube video on the build you can watch below.

You can also check out some photos in this imgur gallery, which shows the process of creating a retro bartop game cabinet inspired by the NES. Using an LED screen and old Advantage joysticks, it looks incredibly authentic.

As always, geeky DIY is the best DIY.
