If—like some of my friends—you’re running out of Pokémon to gather from the most isolated corners of your hometown, then the Pokémon Go team has got some good news for you. A number of Kanto region-based Pokémon (if you’ve forgotten, that’s the original generation) will soon be appearing in Pokémon Go in their Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon Alolan region forms.

An official post from the Pokémon Go team delivers more details:

Sunny days are ahead! Whether your forecast calls for rain or shine, we’re celebrating all around the world by introducing some special Pokémon from the tropical Alola region to Pokémon GO. Get ready for some of the Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region to appear in their Alolan forms! These unique variants were first seen in the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon video games, and they will make their way to Pokémon GO in the coming weeks.

Judging from the silhouettes in the attached picture, it looks like Pokémon Go players will likely be getting Pokémon such as Raichu, the towering Exeggcutor, the sassier-looking Meowth, and the absolutely gorgeous Dugtrio with luscious locks that would make Fabio blush.
