YouTube has once again handed down minor consequences to conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ InfoWars channel in response to four videos that violated the streaming platform’s policies against “violent or graphic content,” CNET reports.
The offending videos included two with hate speech against Muslims, one with hate speech against transgender people, and one called “How To Prevent Liberalism: A Public Service Announcement” that showed a man aggressively pushing down a child, the Verge reports.
All four videos have been removed and earned the Alex Jones Channel a strike from YouTube, which includes a suspension on broadcasting livestreams for 90 days. CNET and the Verge independently verified InfoWars’ claim that the channel had been punished.
YouTube’s policy for doling out consequences allows a channel to receive three strikes before being permanently banned. The four videos on the InfoWars channel count as one strike, and Jones has the option to appeal. His channel was reprimanded in February over videos on the Parkland shooting survivors, but all previous strikes have since expired (they only last for three months).
“We have long standing policies against child endangerment and hate speech. We apply our policies consistently according to the content in the videos, regardless of the speaker or the channel,” a YouTube spokesperson told the Verge.
