Donald Trump addressed the media via a pretaped message on Thursday. The image of him speaking through two monitors was quickly turned into a meme.

On Thursday President Donald Trump addressed the media at the White House press briefing through a pre-taped message that was played on two large television monitors.

Trump’s message was about the recently passed Republican tax plan but it was criticized for not being an in-person interaction with the White House press corps. Here’s what it looked like:

The awkward image of White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders standing in between two monitors showing Trump’s face was too good for the internet not to mock. From conjuring images of the dystopian novel 1984 to replacing the monitors with various other images, the internet had a field day.

Here are some of the best memes that came from the odd briefing message:

This isn’t the first time Trump’s administration has been subjected to the Photoshopping power of Twitter. In July Kellyanne Conway, a counselor to the president, defended the president and his family amid news of the ongoing Russia probe by holding up white pieces of paper with the words “collusion,” “delusion,” “illusion,” and “conclusion?” that were quickly transformed into a variety of other messages.
