Former Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal—who says she had an affair with President Donald Trump in 2006—opened up about her experience in an interview on Thursday with CNN.

McDougal said that the president told her he “loved” her and that although she had genuine feelings for the president, she regretted the experience.

“There were real feelings between the two of us,” McDougal said. “He always told me that he loved me… When I look back where I was back then, I know it’s wrong. I’m really sorry for that.”

McDougal said that the two met while Trump was filming The Apprentice at the Playboy Mansion, where McDougal was working. Trump asked for her phone number and planned a date for his next trip to Los Angeles. After they had sex for the first time, McDougal said Trump tried to offer her cash, an experience she called “terrible.”

“I don’t even know how to describe the look on my face. It must have been so sad,” she said.

McDougal said the gesture left her crying in the car ride home.

McDougal and Trump’s affair came in 2006, after Trump’s wife, Melania, had just given birth to their son, Barron. McDougal is currently suing the National Enquirer after it paid $150,o00 to the rights for her story in the runup to the 2016 election, only to bury it.

Her experience with the president echoes that of another woman fighting to tell her story, Stormy Daniels. Daniels is slated to give an interview about her affair with Trump on 60 Minutes on Sunday. Daniels is suing the president to get out of a non-disclosure agreement she signed about their affair.
