A Facebook employee died by apparent suicide in the company’s Bay Area headquarters on Thursday, according to multiple news reports.

The employee, whose name has not been released, leaped from the fourth floor of one of the buildings on Facebook’s large campus in Menlo Park, Deadline reported. The building is known as MPK 27, according to Business Insider. Officials pronounced him dead at the scene.

The Menlo Park Police Department said it got a 911 call around 11:30am on Thursday morning and found a man unresponsive.

“Menlo Park Police Officers and Menlo Park Fire Protection District personnel responded, and when they arrived, found the victim unresponsive,” Menlo Park Police Department said on Thursday, according to Techcrunch. “Firefighters and paramedics administered medical aid but were unable to revive the victim.”

At least three news reports linked to a press release on the website for the City of Menlo Park that was not available when the Daily Dot tried to access it on Friday morning. The Daily Dot reached out to City of Menlo Park officials and will update this report if they respond.

Authorities have reportedly ruled out foul play. Facebook did not immediately respond to the Daily Dot’s request for comment but told Techcrunch the company was cooperating with police.

“We were saddened to learn that one of our employees passed away at our Menlo Park headquarters earlier today,” Facebook said to Techcrunch in an email. “While the family is being notified, we have no information to share.”
