Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are celebrating the arrival of their third child, a baby girl.
Kardashian posted the announcement to her website on Monday:
Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl. We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister.
Reports surfaced last summer that West and Kardashian would be using a surrogate to carry their third child, due to Kardashian’s placenta accreta, which, according to the Mayo Clinic, “occurs when blood vessels and other parts of the placenta grow too deeply into the uterine wall” and could make another pregnancy dangerous. Kardashian has been very open about her past complications.
A name has not yet been announced.
