During her Instagram Live video on Sunday, Katy Perry made a bad joke about Barack Obama. The internet isn’t letting her off the hook.
Perry recently cut off her hair and dyed it blonde, and said during her stream that people have told her they miss her black hair. Her response was meant to be a joke.
“Oh, really?” Perry said. “Do you miss Barack Obama as well? Oh, OK. Times change. Bye! See you guys later.”
Twitter user DJ SCREAM was able to capture the footage and post it to his account. It spread like wildfire around social media from there.

Other people think the backlash is uncalled for or bring up Perry’s support for Obama as evidence the artist’s joke wasn’t meant to be an anti-Obama dig.
