Carrie Fisher has won her first Grammy Award more than a year after her passing for recording the audio companion to her final book.
The majority of Sunday night’s Grammy Awards were announced prior to the ceremony, one of which included Fisher’s award. She won for best spoken word album—the same category that host James Corden would later use in a bit about the book Fire and Fury—for The Princess Diarist’s audiobook, Fisher’s memoir about filming the first Star Wars movie at 19 and the affair she had with co-star Harrison Ford, who was 34 at the time. In the process, she beat out Bernie Sanders, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Mark Ruffalo, and Shelly Peiken.
While this is Fisher’s first win, she was also nominated in the same category in 2009 for Wishful Drinking’s audiobook.

Fisher’s daughter, actress Billie Lourd, took to Instagram to celebrate the win with Fisher’s emoji social media staple.
“Princess Diarist was the last profesh(ish) thing my momby and I got to do together,” Lourd wrote. “I wish she was here to carry me down the red carpet in some bizarre floral ensemble but instead we’ll celebrate in true Carrie style: in bed in front of the TV over cold Coca Colas and warm e cigs. I’m beyond proud.”
