In YouTube right now, the Daily Dot looks at videos that catch our eyes, push our buttons, and move our dials—and that you’ve just got to watch. Right now!

The stray kitten was found in a garage with a huge gash across its face. Veterinary staff deduced that the kitten had been injured by a car’s fan blade when the cat climbed under it for warmth.

Uploaded onto YouTube on Nov. 26, “The Faceless Kitten” takes the viewer through the kitten’s horrific injury and subsequent recovery.

Faris, a veterinary technician who goes by The Bunny Girl on YouTube, uploaded the video documenting the kitten’s progress. Be warned: The video is very graphic.

Months later, the kitten is grown, and the scars on his face are hardly visible. The only side effect from the injury, explained Faris in the video’s description, is a missing tear duct on one eye, which causes the cat to look like he is constantly tearing.

“The Faceless Kitten” quickly made it to the front page of Reddit, the social news site, where redditors engaged in a cyber crying fest. Others lauded the staff for saving the kitten instead of putting it down.

YouTubers echoed similar sentiments, either admitting to tearing after seeing the video or praising the staff for their efforts.

“To whomever saved this cat and performed the operation, you are a true humanitarian and a hero. The world needs more people like you,” wrote portpass1974 in a top comment , which received 32 upvotes.

Even Faris got in on the crying fest in an update to her video’s description: “It makes me tear up with joy that so many people are seeing this message and are being touched by such a tragic yet great story.”
