Stock videos are meant to be dull and drab, easy to slot into all kinds of commercial projects.

That’s why the generic clips available for purchase on Getty Images don’t have any sound. They silently show little life moments like lifting a child up, planting vegetables, cooking, and even putting on your shoes.

But now Bart Batchelor and Andrew MacPhee, the creators of Getty Critics, a website that regularly points out the most ridiculous of the photos available for purchase, have gathered the best of the worst stock video clips… and put sound to them.

Think Bad Lip Reading, but for sound effects instead of dubbed dialogue. It turns the dullest of scenes into the absurd and others even reach the level of horror that only “We Can’t Stop” without the music can achieve.

“There’s a reason stock video doesn’t have sound,” Batchelor and MacPhee wrote in the video description.

Sometimes not knowing might be better, but hearing it will change the way you look at the mundane.
