The new, full-length trailer for Netflix‘s Luke Cage is exactly as badass as we hoped, featuring plenty of action scenes from Marvel‘s bulletproof hero.

Luke Cage links in with Marvel’s other Netflix series, but this trailer proves that it stands out from Daredevil‘s traditional superhero story and Jessica Jones‘s tense thriller atmosphere. Mike Colter plays a more self-assured protagonist than either of his predecessors, and we’re already getting hints of how music choices will play a role in defining the show’s personality.

After Luke Cage’s introduction in Jessica Jones last year, the new series looks like it will cover his origin story (albeit briefly) before launching straight into a crime storyline in Harlem, starring Mahershala Ali as the villain Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes.

The trailer also includes Rosario Dawson in her recurring Marvel role as Claire Temple, and introduces Simone Missick as Misty Knight, who is depicted without the bionic arm fans will remember from the comics.
