It was just too easy.

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) greeted reporters at his weekly press briefing on Thursday with a PowerPoint presentation on the Republican plan to dismantle Obamacare.

Turns out, Ryan’s nearly 20-minute presentation featuring detailed charts and interactive graphics on the failure of Obamacare and his earnest, TED talk-style delivery was a far too easy target for Twitter. Many found it hard not to giggle at Ryan’s grim declaration that Obamacare was “in a death spiral,” followed by evidence in the form of pie charts and color-coded maps. The speaker of the House has a well-documented love of Powerpoints that dates back several years.

Ryan’s lecture quickly became too sophisticated and thought-provoking for mere charts. He settled on a white slide that simply said, “There will be a stable transition to conservative health care reform,” and spoke for several minutes. We’ll just have to take his word for it.

At least among political journalists and other questionable characters who watch C-SPAN on their lunch breaks, Paul Ryan and his Obamacare Powerpoint quickly became a meme:
