Megan Sullivan hasn’t had the easiest year. In November 2014, she fell while rock climbing in Yosemite National Park. Three days later, she was hit by a car while riding her Vespa, and the following week, she was diagnosed with skin cancer

It seemed like the universe was telling her it was time to fulfill one of her lifelong ambitions. So she decided to take action.

“In December of 2014, I realized my three-year dream of traveling around the world, ten days before departure with three hours of planning and with some guy I’d known for two weeks,” Sullivan wrote on her personal website.
