This week we saw multiple right-wing pundits awkwardly try to sting Hillary Clinton by way of Beyoncé lyrics. But Queen Bey is bigger than politics, as these amazing clips from high school pep rally in Virginia help prove.
Police officer Deuntay Diggs performed a flawless rendition of Beyoncé’s “Formation” at North Stafford High School on Friday. Diggs, 31, says he’s just doing what he can to help improve relations between his local community and the police.
“The reason I’m doing this is to show kids that they can make it, that they can survive, that they can be successful,” he told BuzzFeed. “I’ve been very fortunate, at this time when people look negatively upon law enforcement, that I’m able to change that narrative and open up some conversations and engage with people.”
TL;DR: He slays (okay).

“I’m a huge Beyoncé fan,” Diggs told BuzzFeed. So the night before, I just watched her video on YouTube over and over again, and then I memorized it, practiced it, and the next day I did it.”
Diggs is the first openly gay deputy to serve at the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office and also gives back to community as a motivational speaker. He’s the type of local hero we need right now.
