President Donald Trump, and his son Donald Trump Jr., spent Thursday evening doing meme tweets at CNN White House reporter Jim Acosta, who was at the U.S.-Mexico border reporting on the immigration fight that currently has the U.S. government shutdown.

Acosta said that the town in McAllen, Texas, from which he was reporting, was a very “safe community” and that he doesn’t see migrants committing crimes.

Whether Acosta thought about the optics of the video he tweeted is unclear, but he was doing his reporting about how safe the border was from behind what looks a lot like a wall, a fact the president’s son found hilarious.

Acosta, who has never not tweeted a response to being made fun of, fired back at Trump Jr. “You guys seem to be saying the current measures in place are working,” he wrote. “Does that mean your dad should reopen the government and get federal employees back to work?”

The feud, of course, caught the eye of our meme president, who retweeted Acosta’s border wall video with a popular joke on the right about how Acosta’s Twitter feed reads like entries into a personal journal.

That caught the eye of Trump Jr., who loves nothing more than posting online about how awesome his father is.

Trump Jr. also retweeted a video that joked about Acosta getting run over by a golf cart.

Meanwhile, the government is still shut down.
