The New York Times reports that Epstein talked with scientists about his idea and was interested in transhumanism, including genetic engineering and artificial intelligence. As part of this, he wanted to “seed the human race” with his DNA at a ranch he owned in New Mexico.

He spoke about the idea since the beginning of the 2000s. Epstein, according to the report, met with a number of prominent scientists and “dangled financing for their pet projects.”

As the Times puts it:

On multiple occasions starting in the early 2000s, Mr. Epstein told scientists and businessmen about his ambitions to use his New Mexico ranch as a base where women would be inseminated with his sperm and would give birth to his babies, according to two award-winning scientists and an adviser to large companies and wealthy individuals, all of whom Mr. Epstein told about it.

He also reportedly said he wanted his penis frozen after he died.
