Fox News is giving its viewers what they want. As much Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as possible.

Since an attempt at drawing attention to what the Representative-elect was wearing during her Congressional orientation backfired so badly, you’d think maybe her fashion would be off limits.

A Washington Examiner reporter created a Twitter firestorm after sharing a photo of Ocasio-Cortez and writing, “I’ll tell you something: that jacket and coat don’t look like a girl who struggles.” Twitter and Ocasio-Cortez herself schooled him on what a big gaffe he had made. The reporter, Eddie Scarry, later deleted the tweet.

Of course, Fox News had to give it another go.

A pair of Ocasio-Cortez’s shoes is on display at an exhibit at Cornell about clothing that women find empowering. Her run-down campaign shoes, dirty and with holes in the sole, are being shown as a sign of her “hustle.”

But on Friday night Fox News’ Ed Henry couldn’t help but dive into a journalistic discussion about whether her shoes deserve this recognition. Of course, they enlisted an all-woman panel—who else could have such a fluffy conversation to entertain the masses?

In the end, Rachel Campos-Duffy, Wendy Osefo and Susan Li were actually quite complimentary of Ocasio-Cortez. All sides agreed she worked hard throughout her campaign and that she should be included in the exhibit.

They almost made it through the segment without criticizing her policies, too. With a few seconds to spare Campos-Duffy made sure to get in, “She’s proposing that we take on socialism in our country. And right now in Venezuela, there are people who can’t afford shoes. Don’t have shoes on their feet because of what socialism has done to their country.”

When a Twitter user decided to point out to the 29-year-old Congresswoman-elect that a conversation about her shoes was actually taking place on prime-time TV, she quickly responded.

The lyrics are from the song “Obsesión” by Aventura, a New York City-based Dominican bachata band, and mean, “No, it’s not love/ What you feel is called obsession.”

She even offered an English alternative for those who were curious.

Another Twitter user joked that she was going to have to make Fox hire a translator. So she dug in.

Ocasio-Cortez has been able to reach people across the country in a way others have not with her social media savvy.   She will be sworn in to the U.S. Congress on Jan. 3, 2019.
