Better, stronger, harder YouTube parodies of Rick Perry
As appalling as Rick Perry’s latest political ad, titled “Strong,” might be to some, the sheer volume of dislikes the video has received and the number of parodies, YouTube vlog responses, and online ridicule it spawned should offer some relief.
The following is a collection of the Daily Dot’s favorite parodies thus far.
The Second City Network, a YouTube channel for the Second City comedy club, released its spoof early this morning. Comedian and writer Andy Cobb begins by saying “I’m not ashamed to admit I am an atheist.”
Another atheist spoof, also uploaded today, features political vlogger James Kotecki advocating for reason. He parodies Perry’s words with “but you don’t have to sleep in every Sunday to know there’s something wrong in this country when Rick Perry can be openly homophobic, but our kids can't openly celebrate evolution or learn about science.”
Peter Coffin took a different approach and placed a rear end on Rick Perry’s head. Perry speaks as all ass-heads do, through farting noises.
YouTuber RitchandFamous is not ashamed to admit he is a dinosaur, and as president, he will not only eat President Obama and Rick Perry, but also fight against any attempt to stop him from eating you and your family.
Besides the parodies, an “Old Fashioned Guy” clip from the comedy show “The State” has seen a huge upswing in views in the last 24 hours. The top comment on the video, liked more than 300 times and written by ScottKinmartinTV, asks “Rick Perry, is that YOU?!”
Internet citizens have also taken to mocking Perry’s jacket, which appears to be the same one worn in Brokeback Mountain, a romantic movie of two men and their sexual relationship.
