Who is Poppy? A new music video offers a few more clues.
“Bleach Blonde Baby” follows up last month’s “Moshi Moshi” as internet curiosity Poppy gears up for a winter tour in support of album Poppy.Computer. The video, which features Poppy singing in front of people holding letters that spell “Everybody Dies,” was directed by Titanic Sinclair, her collaborator and the man behind her mysterious videos, which have drawn a devoted fandom and many conspiracy theories about who she really is.
Here, she reveals she was “born with makeup on” and that “If you cut me I bleed pink.”
Poppy’s upcoming TV pilot, I’m Poppy, is set to debut at Sundance and will feature Freaks and Geeks‘ Samm Levine, Game of Thrones‘ Dan Hildebrand, and True Detective‘s Brad Carter.
