Carpool Karaoke has been an integral part of The Late Late Show since James Corden took over nearly two years ago, but he’s always been in the driver’s seat—until now.
Lady Gaga, fresh off the debut of her latest album Joanne, is his latest passenger to help him use the carpool lane. It starts off like any other segment as Lady Gaga explains the beginning of “Bad Romance” and roleplays the phone call that got her the Super Bowl Halftime Show, but after recently obtaining her driver’s license, she wanted a chance to drive. Corden immediately regretted it.
Add in some Benedict Cumberbatch-inspired warmups, Corden’s fashion show of Lady Gaga’s many iconic looks, and performances spanning her entire career (including a couple of songs from Joanne).
“Not ideal for driving, but I do feel alive,” Corden told her after donning one of those costumes.
He sure does.
