It seems like a bill

John Oliver has added his voice to the massive opposition against House Republicans’ plan to replace the Affordable Care Act.

Likening it to Pirates of the Caribbean 5, Oliver highlighted many of the criticisms against the American Health Care Act (AHCA) including: how it will cuts Medicaid, how its tax cuts will benefit the wealthy, and how the people it will likely hurt most are the ones who voted for Donald Trump. And those in favor of keeping the ACA aren’t the only ones who aren’t happy with it. Many conservatives are as well because they see it as “Obamacare 2.0.”

“This bill seems almost universally hated in Washington,” Oliver said. “It is truly the Ted Cruz of health care legislation.”

Oliver also pointed Trump’s own opposition to have his name attached to the AHCA despite his public support of the bill and despite his putting his name on almost everything. But Oliver, aware of Trump’s TV habits, reaches him where he’ll know he’ll watch: Fox and Friends. Once again, Oliver purchased ad time to air during Trump’s shows featuring a catheter-using cowboy who warns that citizens having to pay more for healthcare will make people mad—a worrying thing for someone who cares about being popular.
