A white woman in Oregon has been caught on video brandishing a knife and attacking a Black family in what appears to be a parking spot dispute.
Capt. Rhonda Jaasko of the McMinnville Police Department told the Daily Dot the attacker is 39-year-old Amber Rocco from Willamina. The video, shared by the Oregonian, shows Rocco holding a knife in one hand and hurling racial slurs at the family.
The video begins with a woman, identified as Emora Roberson, saying from behind the camera, “This bitch is really trying to stab me.”
Rocco, with a knife on her right hand, screams, “It’s called self-defense you stupid n***** bitch!”
Roberson told the Oregonian that the incident took place on Christmas Eve when they stopped at a strip mall in McMinnville. Roberson, 20, was with her boyfriend, her 15-month-old baby, and her aunt.
When they were parked, a car pulled up next to theirs, and soon the woman from inside began hurling abuses at them because, Roberson says, her aunt had “parked crooked.” Rocco reportedly slapped and spat on Roberson’s boyfriend, who responded by warning her about her language and behavior. She then brought out a knife.
In the video, she’s also seen trying to slam the door of the car to the passenger seat. Toward the end of the video, a baby can be heard crying from behind the camera.
Roberson contacted the McMinnville police regarding the incident. McMinnville police told the Daily Dot that they arrested Rocco on Friday. She’s been charged with felony and harassment charges, along with “intimidation” charges under Oregon’s hate-crime statute.
She’s scheduled to be arraigned on Monday afternoon PST.
