Thandie Newton takes a stand against facial hair stigma with provocative photo

While most celebrities flood their Instagram accounts with glamorous pre-awards show photos, actress Thandie Newton took a different approach. 

To demonstrate the grueling red carpet prep process, Newton posted the following pre-wax selfie on Instagram, before the premiere of her husband’s film The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

The Chronicles of Riddick and Mission: Impossible II star posted the photo on the Instagram account she shares with her friend, makeup artist Kay Montano. Montano and Newton run the website ThandieKay.com, which offers hair and makeup tips and tutorials. Montano also posted her own pre-wax photo in solidarity.
