A video of a lesbian couple’s adorable marriage proposal has gone viral, reminding people that you don’t need to go grand to make that special moment memorable.
“My mother’s girlfriend just proposed!” Alaina Seger wrote on Twitter, sharing the video she recorded of the proposal. “They are my favorite!”
The video starts with Seger’s mother, Teressa, opening up a fortune cookie, with a smile of disbelief spreading across her face. The paper inside the cookie read, “Will You Marry Me?”
“I’m gonna ask you right now,” announces her girlfriend, Liesel, coming into the frame with an excited, sheepish smile. She says that’s why the kids are there, to be with them for this special moment, and then she gets down on one knee.

“I love you. You have a beautiful heart and a beautiful spirit. And you’re smart and sexy. And you’ve just been so supportive and patient with me,” says Liesel, pausing for a moment to take a deep breath before finishing her speech. “If you’ll let me, I want to love you forever. All of you, every part of you, every day, forever. You’re my best friend and the love of my life, and I want to know if you’ll marry me.” She offers the ring box to Teressa, who opens it, wraps her arms around her new fiance, and says yes.
The sweet and simple proposal has garnered over 93,000 likes and over 1.19 million views on Twitter since it was posted on Sunday. At least a few of them are rewatches, because it’s hard to see what’s happening as you cry tears of joy.
