The stolen data released in the Ashley Madison hack revealed that former 19 Kids and Counting star Josh Duggar was a user. And a man named Matthew McCarthy is experiencing some unfortunate consequences because of it.

You might not know McCarthy, a DJ based in Hollywood, but you’ve likely seen his face before. He’s the guy whose photo Duggar used for his OkCupid profiles. (Duggar allegedly found McCarthy’s photo after Googling “random guy.”)

Duggar eventually apologized, calling himself “the biggest hypocrite ever” for using Ashley Madison while citing an addiction to pornography, but didn’t mention the man whose photo he used at all. Now McCarthy is facing repercussions for Duggar’s actions even though he didn’t have any connection to Ashley Madison himself.

According to TMZ, McCarthy already lost a DJ gig from the fallout of Duggar’s actions because the club felt that he was part of the scandal. McCarthy, who believes that this is a defamation of character, is now considering his legal options in what could lead to one of many lawsuits caused by the fallout of the Ashley Madison hacks.
