Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) was given a birthday cake made of Twinkies on Tuesday and posted a video of him thanking his staff for it.

However, in the video, Romney pulls out individual candles and blows them out one-by-one, which perplexed everyone.

“My team surprised me with a cake made out of my favorite snack—twinkies! Looking forward to all this year has in store,” the senator wrote.

In the video, Romney joked that the cake was “what I’ve always wanted” and then blew out the candles by picking each one up instead of collectively blowing them all out.

The way the senator decided to blow out the candles struck some people as odd.

However, other people thought the technique was more sanitary than blowing them all out at once.

Others seemed to enjoy the Twinkie cake video, comparing it to the time the now-senator ironed his shirt while wearing it.

If Romney wants more people to find him relatable, this sure isn’t the best way to go about it.
