The British company Apparel Giveaway promises to split the winnings of its lottery ticket to those that share it on Facebook. But I wouldn't bet on it.

Every day, the Daily Dot finds something that people on Facebook are sharing and, in turn, share it with you—with a little explanation. Here’s today’s share.

What’s cheaper than buying a single lottery ticket? How about simply sharing a photo of one on Facebook?

English Facebook users are quickly passing around a photo of a ticket stub, hoping they’ll get a cut if it wins.

A British company called Apparel Giveaway—whose website doesn’t even go up until Friday—took a photo of the ticket, promising to split any winnings with everyone who had shared the photo. It’s been shared 3,500 times, and the number is growing fast, since the drawing is Tuesday evening.

Some users have bought in hard. “disabled single mommy here who is trying to raise the money for brain op so fingers and toes crossed,” wrote one woman.

Others are trolling the company: “im putting on the same numbers as you,” said one man, hoping that if the ticket wins, Apparel would have to split the prize money evenly with him.

According to computational engine Wolfram Alpha, the odds of a ticket winning the full prize, worth £44 million are one in 116,531,800.
