Texas veterinarian Kristen Lindsey allegedly killed a domestic cat with a bow and arrow and posted a photo on Facebook earlier this week. She’s since been fired from her job at Washington Animal Clinic in Brenham, Texas, and is even under police investigation for her curious, potentially criminal behavior.

In the photo, Lindsey can be seen gripping an arrow with both hands while a deceased cat hangs impaled. “My first bow kill lol,” reads her post. “The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through it’s [sic] head. Vet of the year award…gladly accepted!”

Her Facebook account has since been deleted, but My San Antonio nabbed screenshots in time:

It turns out that this poor cat was actually a pet owned by an area couple, according to True Blue Animal Rescue. It’s hardly the “feral tomcat” this supposed nature-tamer boasted about killing on social media, where her use of a cat-face emoji did little to present this as “normal” behavior.

Lindsey is now under investigation by the police for her actions, and they are looking for “any and all physical evidence” pertaining to the crime. Section 42.092 of the Texas Penal Code (Cruelty to Nonlivestock Animals) outlines various criminal charges that can come about from killing a cat, feral or not.

An advocacy group called Alley Cat Allies is offering $7,500 in exchange for evidence leading to a conviction in the case of this deceased cat. In the meantime, Lindsey’s name has been duct-taped over on the sign at the animal hospital where she used to work:
