The 40-year-old award-winning humorist, professor, and social commentator, Ze Frank, is a legend—both inside and outside the YouTube community. So it’s not surprising that his first video, an three-minute philosophical poem on modern society titled “An Invocation for Beginnings,” is already gathering praise from influentials.

“Let us now praise prodigal fathers. @zefrank, the greatest of all time, returns” tweeted bestselling author and vlog brother John Green. (The Daily Dot listed the vlog brothers as the most influential YouTuber in 2011)

Kickstarter cofounder Yance Strickler called the video full of “important truths,” while Synchopat founder Darius Dunlap called the first episode “classic Ze Frank” and “an inspiring must-watch video.”

When Ze Frank announced that he would be rebooting his show via Kickstarter in February, fans poured in donations at such a rate that he met his goal in just eight hours.

YouTubers, happy to see Ze Frank back on the platform that made him famous, have taken to professing their love for the returned vlogger in the comments section.

“You’re like a good guy Charlie Sheen” wrote GrymHood on YouTube.
