UFC fighter Yoel Romero is so concerned about the future health of Michael Bisping that Romero has set up a GoFundMe account in his name. It’s a lovely sentiment for two MMA fighters in such a brutal sport, and to think Romero has taken the time to look after a fellow fighter in his time of need, well, it warms the heart and makes us feel that humanity isn’t so bad after all …

Oh, Romero is potentially fighting Bisping in a couple months? Oh, so this is just a clever troll job, then? OK, carry on.

From the GoFundMe page established by Romero:

This is Mike, he will be needing money to survive after me and him meet in the octagon approximately May of 2017. He is happy in this picture after defending his title against another fighter and the devastation he went through has caused him to have surgery on his knee where all the visible damage was on his face. This surgery has prevented him from competing in a timely manner. After his fight with me, I am convinced he will need this money to rebuild his life, he has a family and I am deeply concerned for him. Please help any way that you can as all funds will be used for medical expenses and his retirement party. Thank you for your time and #ynuevo

Bisping is the UFC middleweight champion, and he clearly wasn’t amused by Romero’s troll job, saying Romero was yapping like a “little doggie” and that only Bisping has a say if they ever fight.

Bisping then turned the attention of his social media accounts to highlight this GoFundMe account.

That GoFundMe page has raised more than €83,000 for a €175,000 goal. Romero’s GoFundMe account, meanwhile, has raised just $225 of its $100,000 goal.
