Michael Ian Black, David Wain, and Michael Showalter reunite for the first new ‘Stella’ short in 20 years

Something’s definitely… off in the San Francisco hotel room Michael Ian Black, David Wain, and Michael Showalter are sharing, but they can’t figure out what.

At least that’s the premise for “Rip Van Winkle,” a comedy short the trio (who used to perform together as Stella) released Monday. It’s a video they made for this year’s San Francisco Sketchfest in January, but they’ve graciously uploaded it to Vimeo for the rest of the world to enjoy too.

In it, the trio wakes up after falling asleep in 1997 and are suddenly confronted with a lot of realities. Where is Oprah? Why won’t the thermostat play Third Eye Blind? Something must be wrong.

Maybe they’ve time traveled. Or maybe reality is a construct when you really think about it, man. No matter what, one thing’s for sure: They’ll always have breakfast.
