Most celebrity mothers fly under the radar, often showing up at award shows attached at the arm to their famous sons and daughters.
But for mother Patricia Lynn “Pattie” Mallette, all it takes is one tweet to have millions of people focused on her.
That’s because Mallette is the mother of pop sensation Justin Bieber, a Twitter juggernaut who has more than 19 million followers on the microblogging site. (Bieber is about 3 million followers short of Lady Gaga, who holds Twitter’s top spot.)
Mallette is no Twitter slouch, either.
Largely thanks to her son’s success, the Stratford, Ontario, native has collected more than 1 million devoted Twitter followers, who helped make “We Love You Pattie” a top trending topic in the U.S. on her birthday Monday.
“She may be ‘Justin Bieber’s mom’ but to us she’s more than that,” tweeted @BieberDaze. “WeLove You Pattie.”
“We Love You Pattie. Not only because you’re justins mom but because you did all the things for your little baby & gave everything up for him,” tweeted @OhSexrauhl.
So far “We Love You Pattie” and #thankyoupattiefor have been mentioned more than 5,000 times in the last two hours, according to social media search engine Topsy.
And what sort of birthday would it be without some kind words from her son.
“happy birthday mom,” tweeted Bieber. “i love u”
