It’s pretty much understood that cartoon physics defy all reason, but the guys at Mythbusters are testing out the science of The Simpsons anyway.

The citizens of Springfield might not use the classic “walk on air” gag, but there’s still plenty of things for Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman to prove (or disprove). Can you set off every connected toilet in a building with a single cherry bomb? And what about Homer’s impact with a wrecking ball and a house?

You’ll have to wait for the actual special to air on Jan. 10 to find out how those go, but here’s a sneak peek at what went into creating the necessary materials for the experiments, which includes creating a life-size Homer Simpson.

Any possible d’ohs will be the least of their worries.
