Guy Adams, the journalist at the center of a censorship row on Twitter, is free to tweet once again.

Adams’s account was suspended Monday for tweeting the email address of an NBC executive after expressing distaste over the network’s coverage of the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.

His first tweet after returning to the network read: “Oh. My Twitter account appears to have been un-suspended. Did I miss much while I was away?” It picked up more than 600 retweets within fourteen minutes of being posted.

In further tweets, he added that he did not receive an apology nor a full explanation from Twitter, save from the company telling him: “we have just received an update from the complainant retracting their original request … Therefore your account has been unsuspended.”

An NBC spokesperson claimed Twitter alerted the network’s social media team to the fateful tweet.

Twitter has yet to comment on the situation, which brought a storm of criticism towards the company, but an NBC Sports spokesperson told Reuters’ Matthew Keys in an email that “Our interest was in protecting our executive, not suspending the user from Twitter.”
