CNN anchor Don Lemon can mark off actor Jonah Hill from his holiday card list, as the two are embroiled in a Twitter disagreement.

In a fight that’s not even worthy of that word, Lemon, a weekend anchor for news network, was irked when the actor failed to return his greeting in a New York City hotel late Thursday.

“Said hi to @jonahhill in hotel. Think he thought i was bellman. Didn’t know his name til bellman told me. A lesson to always be kind,” tweeted Lemon, a self-described “Twitter King.”  After a follower asked if they were both being rude, Lemon responded that Hill was acting like a “tool” and called him “rude.”

Hill responded to Lemon, tweeting “I said hi. What do you want me to do, move in with you? I was in a hurry. Didn’t realize you were a 12 year old girl. Peace.” The Superbad star later deleted the tweet.

Lemon also backtracked and deleted a tweet that said, “@JonahHill Was waiting for luggage. Bellman & I laughed at how self-important u were. Just being honest. Be nice. Stardom is fleeting”

Hill  tweeted twice Friday, but didn’t mention his disagreement with the CNN journalist.

Lemon, however, didn’t let the disagreement die. On Friday’s edition of CNN’s morning show Starting Point, Lemon told host Soledad O’Brien that all he wanted to do was complement Hill but, instead was insulted by his behavior.

“But Jonah Hill treated me like the help when I basically wanted to say ‘I like you, I think you’re funny,’” said Lemon, adding that Hill brushed him aside when he approached him. Hill walked back toward Lemon and gave him a weak handshake and then walked away again.

Lemon said he and the hotel bellman passed judgement on Hill’s behavior, insinuating that Hill was indeed acting like a tool.

“It normally doesn’t bother me, but I was done,” said an exhausted Lemon, recovering from the election fervor. “I was taught by mother to always be kind to people.”

A commenter on YouTube named ChiroQuacker said they believe Hill’s behavior was inconsiderate. “[T]he guy is so full of himself…a real douche,” the commenter wrote, explaining Hill exhibited similar actions when they saw him in a hotel.

On Twitter, Shaun Chillingworth tweeted that it’s Lemon who is acting hypocritical. “Some1 tell @DonLemonCNN that calling someone out on Twitter isn’t exactly a kind thing to do.”
