Get familiar with ‘Anne’ in new Netflix trailer

Anne, the serial adaptation of classic novel Anne of Green Gables, is heading for Netflix on May 12, and a new trailer gives us a look at our protagonist, Anne Shirley.

Or, as she says, Anne Shirley Cuthbert, “and please be sure to spell Anne with an E.”

The series will touch on bullying, friendship, gender bias, and class. Showrunner Moira Walley-Beckett (Breaking Bad) told Hello Giggles that Anne “was an accidental feminist—she was ahead of her time.”
