A Milwaukee man was arrested on sex trafficking and teen prostitution charges after his alleged 17-year-old victim recognized the man’s mother as her high school math teacher.

50-year-old Sean Hayes allegedly approached the teenage girl in August 2017, meeting her at a bus stop and passing along a card for “Shining Stars Adult Entertainment.” After having sex with the 17-year-old the following day, the criminal complaint against him claims, Hayes trafficked her as a sex worker between August and October 2017. He gave her the alias “Honey,” working as a “call girl” without revealing her age, and took her everywhere from Chicago and Green Bay to Waukesha and Wauwatosa, FOX6Now reports.

Hayes’ mother was eventually tipped off after her son took her call while traveling from Chicago to Milwaukee. The 17-year-old listened to the conversation and realized that the woman he was speaking to was her teacher. The teen later explained to her math teacher she missed class “because she had been working as an escort for her son.” Hayes’ mother then turned him in to authorities after hearing the girl’s story.

Hayes claims his innocence and argues that “records will prove the girl is lying.” He is out on bail and scheduled for trial in June.
