A man was sentenced to 60 years in prison on Friday after he was convicted of trying to sell his 4-year-old daughter for sex.

Andrew Turley, 30, had been convicted for trafficking of a child and compelling prostitution of somebody under the age of 18, according to the Houston Chronicle after he tried to charge $1,000 to a potential customer for two hours with his daughter.

Turley had posted a Craigslist ad in 2015 with the title “Play with Daddie’s Little Girl.” After an undercover police officer contacted him, Turley said he had a girl that was younger than 10 and that he would give her “sleep meds” before the meeting, according to the district attorney’s office. Turley also said she might be “too young for intercourse but everything else was OK.”

“Upon the undercover officer’s arrival, Turley checked the cash, then escorted him to a bedroom where the girl was lying in bed and appeared to be ‘under the influence of an unknown substance,’” the district attorney’s statement read.

“This case broke my heart,” Assistant DA Stewanna Miskell said, via the newspaper. “A father is supposed to be a protector not a predator.”

Turley will serve at least 45 years before he’s eligible for parole.
