Yesterday, Adam Peaty won the Olympic gold in the 100 meter breaststroke, setting a new world record in the process. And no one was more excited than his grandma, who has long been his biggest cheerleader on Twitter.
Mavis Williams describes herself in her bio as “Proud Nan to a World Champion Breaststroker,” and has an image of Peaty with his gold medal as her banner image. Yesterday as he won his gold, she jumped on Twitter to congratulate him.

The Daily Dot has reached out to Nan Mavis about Peaty’s success and how she plans to use her Twitter account after the Rio games, but hasn’t heard back. Perhaps grandma pep talks for hire?
H/T Mashable.
