Chicago rapper Chief Keef posted “Faneto” to YouTube in October. It was kind of a throwaway, reactionary, and angry track. He’d just been the victim of a robbery attempt while on tour in New Jersey, and responded with the visceral, concrete-eviscerating, self-produced anthem “Faneto.”

On it, Keef (known unofficially as Sosa) pens the Garden State a love letter: “I’m riding through New York/I’m finna shoot New Jersey up/Tryna take my chain, ain’t goin/We gone come and blow New Jersey up.” As rap blog KollegeKid notes, without an adorning music video or a promotional push, “Faneto” struck a viral, resonant tone with listeners—amassing 5.6 million plays.

It’s an underground smash hit that rap fans adore. It’s been the soundtrack to gaggles of vines, and if there was any doubt of its span, here’s an astonishing, hourlong mix of fan clips. It has Snapchats, ample brandishing of guns, people losing their minds in the club, and one very turnt up bird.

You can go back to pairing Kendrick Lamar‘s fake-ass Aquemini album with cucumber sandwiches now.
