If your mid-2000s weren’t filled with “You’re Beautiful” playing roughly 20 times a day on top-40 radio stations… the rest of the world can’t relate.
James Blunt, the one-hit wonder behind the song, hasn’t seen as much musical success for the last decade. This month he released new singles and has an upcoming album.
Ed Sheeran, another singing Brit who’s stolen hearts around the world, recently announced that Blunt will be his opening act for an upcoming tour in North America. They also co-wrote several of Blunt’s latest songs, making Blunt uncomfortable because Sheeran forced him to be more open emotionally than usual.

Don’t let the cheekiness alarm you—both artists are known for it. Blunt especially has accrued a name for himself over the last several years for self-depreciating humor and, well, being blunt.

Sheeran’s music has overtaken mainstream radio recently, which gives Blunt’s new album a chance to strike back. It may not be “You’re Beautiful,” but that familiar British voice may repeatedly play in your car again soon.
